Please let me know if you’re planning to join. I’ve planned a route that is roughly 70km with 1600m of climb made up of a northern loop and a southern loop from Bamford. The first (northern) loop is about 40km, the second (southern) loop is 30km. The northern loop is mostly off road and includes one section where you might need to push or carry your bike. This can be avoided if you ride up the A57 for 2.5km. The southern loop has a bit more road and includes a descent of the mar tor broken road. People are welcome to join for just the first loop if they don’t fancy the whole thing. I’ll attempt to post a gpx of the whole thing.

The Working Meet is now fully subscribed – a big thank you to the Members who have signed up for a weekend of work and play. The Meet will follow the usual script – one day working, the other playing, with refreshments and the Saturday evening meal provided by the Club. The Club also waives hut fees for those Members prepared to help keep the hut in good shape. I hope the weather holds – if it doesn’t, people may well find themselves bumping into each other and competing for the indoor jobs!

If anyone wants to relax in the Lake District this bank holiday weekend, then High Moss has no current bookings.

An update to say thank you for members who have sent in photos after Dom’s and my requests. I have added all I have received to date onto the Gallery…it is starting to look good and if anyone has any others to send me up until the end of this month [August], please do. Because of the severe fires above Dovestone Reservoir our walks on Wednesday 29th July had to be changed. We have decided to walk from Friden SK172607. Walks are on the Rucksack Club Meets Calendar, if you want to check the route. Gerry G and Gerry O

Anyone want to join me from 17th October till 30th Oct. for some sport climbing on Greece’s most convenient island climbing venue.Flights from Manchester to Kos are going for around £400 and accommodation is around £550 for a 2-bed apartment. John Warby.
